Partner Yoga: Cultivating Lovingkindness

So what did I do for Valentine's day? We attended a couples Yoga class. But I am still not a hippie.... OK.

It was nice. Something different. Whereas other couples laid out big bucks for dinner, we laid on the floor feeling each other breathe. OK maybe I am becoming a little hippie... But I blame Whole Foods and The Elephant Pharm moving into the neighborhood and no longer having cable. I'm still not hugging a tree....

Jewish Meditation Class

I attended a Jewish Meditation Class at the new Elephant Pharm.

The purpose of a spirtual practice is to liberate us not to enslave us. It is meant to bring us to greater joy and compassion, no to make us more angry, depressed or narrow minded. It is to help us see the broad horizon, as well as the details. It is to help us see the Divine in everything.

I figured this could help me in my prayer life. Alas, when we meditated for about 15 min I ended up falling asleep. Best meditation session I ever had. lol.

Tonight there is going to be a Feng Shui class. Maybe it can help me with clutter. I like the minimalist approach.

Parcel 104 Santa Clara - 9.0

I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner at Parcel 104 in Santa Clara. I arrived at about 5:30, right in time for them to open and no crowd yet. I ordered the Aromatic Wine Flight with consisted of the following:Chateau St. Michelle 2005 Eroica Riesling MacMurry Ranch Pinot Gris 2005Joseph George Sauvignon Blanc 2005Feb seems to be crab time. They had a variety of crab dishes on the menu that night. I started with the crab cake, milk fed chicken, and the trio for dessert( Bailey's drink, creme brulee, and I can not remember I ate it so fast)
The second waiter gave me bread and some butter. I love butter. They give you more than enough here. The combination.. the fluffy butter hitting the hot bread. Yummy! Then a third waiter brought me a foie gras milkshake in a tiny demitasse. At first, I was put off by it, but after a few sips of Riesling, I downed that sucker like foie was my middle name. The crab cake was cute, little, and gone in 30 seconds. The chicken was intimidating. It was an entire chicken. The waiter assured me that it was only 8 ounces but I could not finish it. I think I ate too much bread. I came with spinach and a butter milk buscuit (more bread). Finally dessert! The Bailey's came in a tiny demitasse also. The creme brulee was excellent. The icecream mousse thing was so good I don't even remember it going down... lol.
All in all, it was a great dinner. Ran me about $93. I guess I will be eating at home for a while. I would love to go back for the Valentines dinner, but my husband does not believe in Valentines. :( Well, thank goodness I loved myself enough to try this excellent restaurant.
